Finger Leaf Mallet Flower Schefflera Pueckleri (tupidanthus calyptratus) – Makes A Beautiful Indoor Plant, Native to tropical rain-forests, the Mallet Flower Tree is a fast grower to 25 feet or more, is shorter in stature and more spreading than the common Schefflera. Perfect for a windbreak or along the fence line. Summer brings unusual, small mallet shaped flowers on the trunk, without all the bees and messy cleanup like the common Schefflera. Leaves grow in groups of five to seven at the end of a long stem, giving the appearance of a floppy umbrella.
The growth rate of Schefflera Pueckleri will vary greatly depending on soil type, sunlight, temperature and other factors. A few leaves are often trimmed prior to shipping to reduce transpiration and travel stress.
