‘Kogane’ mericlone.

 

The flowers of this variety begin as light yellow when first open and darken to golden yellow as the blooms age.

 

At our nursery, plants typically bud/bloom in February/March, with flowers finished across the crop by April.

 

Plants Available: Growing in 5” pots. Plants in 5” pots are mature plants, previously bloomed. Orders will be filled with plants in bud or bloom as blooming season and blooming stock permit.

 

Orchid Care: Grow in bright indirect light. Plants can be acclimated to direct sun, but will thank you if you give them shade during the hottest hours of the day (typically 11-3). Great for mounting on most palms. Water and fertilize regularly during active growth, but give plants a dry rest in the cooler months. At our nursery, this is typically from Thanksgiving through early February on many nobile varieties.

 

Note: Nobile-type Dendrobiums are deciduous—you can expect them to drop leaves during their rest period. Plants require a cool, dry rest in fall/winter to initiate flowering.
