(설명)

Herbs delicate, perennial, creeping and rooting at nodes. Stems ascending, 20-45 cm tall, branched basally, subglabrous or finely puberulous. Petiole winged, to 7 mm; leaf blade ovate, 0.5-2.5 × 0.4-2 cm, glabrous, lateral veins 4-7 per side, submarginal vein absent, base abruptly attenuate, apex acute. Se- pals 4, deltoid-acute, 1-3 mm, very finely puberulous along margin. Petals absent. Stamens 4; filaments translucent, 0.5-0.8 mm, dilated below; anthers 0.6-0.9 mm, nearly basifixed; pollen in monads. Style green, 0.6-1 mm; stigma dark green, globose. Capsules elongate-globose, subterete, 3-5 mm, 2.5-3.5 mm in diam., finely puberulous, thinly walled, readily and irregularly loculicidal; subsessile or pedicel to 6 mm. Seeds in 2 or more rows per locule, free, reddish brown, apiculate, 0.7-0.9 mm, raphe inflated and triangular, 0.2-0.5 mm across, coarsely reticulate. Fl. Jul-Sep, fr. Jul-Oct. 2n = 32.

잎

잎은 호생하며 넓은 난형, 난상 원형 또는 타원상 원형이고 길이 1-2.5cm, 폭 1-2cm로서 양끝이 둔하며 측맥은 4-6쌍이고 엽병은 길이 0.7mm정도이다.

열매

삭과는 타원형 또는 타원상 구형이며 길이 4-5mm이고 종자는 난형이며 길이 0.8mm정도로서 적갈색이고 광택이 있으며 한쪽에 부수체가 있다.

꽃

꽃은 7-10월에 피고 연한 황록색이며 엽액에 1개씩 달리고 소화경이 없으며 소포는 작고 자방 밑부분에 붙어 있다. 꽃받침잎은 4개이며 삼각형이고 길이 2mm정도로서 끝이 뾰족하며 꽃잎은 없고 수술은 4개, 암술대는 1개이며 꽃중심부에 화반이 있고 자방 하위로서 끝에 꽃받침이 남아 있다.

길이 20-40cm이고 보통 자갈색이 돌며 밑부분이 진흙위를 기면서 뿌리가 내리고 윗부분은 비스듬히 또는 곧추선다.

▶여뀌바늘: 전체에 털이 없고 가지가 많이 갈라진다. 잎은 호생, 피침형 또는 난상 피침형, 가장자리는 밋밋하고 가을에 흔히 붉은색으로 물든다.
