Plants: 8-35cm tall
Leaves: petiolate; petiole winged; blade oblanceolate or oblong, pinnatifid to pinnatisect, rarely undivided, 8-20 x 3-4(-6)cm, both surfaces subglabrous to sparsely cobwebby; terminal lobe broadly triangular, apex obtuse or rarely acute; lateral lobes usually 4-8 pairs , patent or slightly recurved, broadly to narrowly triangular or broadly linear, apex obtuse or acute, margins entire or rarely sparsely dentate.
Heads: rarely ca. 3cm in diam. ; scapes 1-3(-7), cobwebby near head; involucre green, campanulate, 1-1.5cm long at anthesis; outer phyllaries erect, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, 0.7-1cm long, more than 2/3 as long as involucre, apex with a corniculate appendage, cobwebby in upper part; inner phyllaries linear-lanceolate or oblong, 1-1.5cm long. apex with or without a corniculate appendage, glabrous.
Florets: yellow; style and stigmas blackish
Cypselae: brown, ca. 4mm long (excluding beak) , spinnulose in upper part, tuberculate below; beak ca. 6mm long; pappus bristles whitish, 5-6mm long.
Chromosome number 2n=24
Floewering: Apr. to Sep.
Distribution: China, Japan, Korea
Korea: HB, PN, GN, JJ. Meadows and sunny open places in mountains
