Gold Mound Sedum Characteristics

Gold Mound Sedum, scientifically known as Sedum mexicanum ‘Gold Mound’, is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial succulent. Its distinctive feature is the vibrant golden-yellow, fleshy, needle-like leaves. The plant typically forms a dense carpet, reaching a modest height of 12 to 15 inches (30 to 38 cm) and spreading between 12 to 16 inches (30 to 41 cm), though it can expand up to 1 meter (39 inches) in optimal conditions. This succulent thrives in USDA Hardiness Zones 7 through 10. Small, star-shaped yellow flowers emerge in late spring through summer.
